Dasavatharam - Three Hours of Kamal Hassan!!!!
Nevertheless, the movie becomes grand because of Kamal's outstanding performance!! This movie is surely a treat for all cinema lovers.. But the fact in it is that, the team could have concentrated more in the story line which proves to be a bit lengthy.. It is infact the screenplay which requires more attention.. Also, just for the sake of making a record to perfrom 10 roles, two characters irrelevant to the main stream has been introduced.. Of course, Kamal rocks even in those two roles, but the pace of the movie gets disturbed with it..
One more factor missing for the movie is a proper background score.. The story becomes handicapped without a proper bgm, and obviously it makes us feel the absence of A.R. for this movie.. Another weak limb for the movie is the unwanted usage of a cheaper graphics here and there, which irritates to a greater extent!! In particular, the scenes potraying the 12th century and the climax, are really cartoony!!
The main thing to be appreciated, apart from Kamal's performance, is the work of the director and more particularly the make up man!! At certain occassions we couldnt even believe that the man out there is Kamal Hassan!! such was the make up brilliance.. Also the closing credits was appreciable and different too!!
On the whole, the movie is a different, rather a worthy, attempt and requires appreciation.. And it is Kamal Hassan who deserves all the credits for the movie!! It is his performance, which even masks the various flaws in the movie and has made it a worth watch!!

A.R.Rahman's live concert at Chennai !!!!
First of all, my sincere thanks to Times of India, for without them we wouldnt have got this golden opportunity to witness the God of Music performing on stage!! Being a deep deep admirer of A.R, i just loved each and every moment there.. Adding to his presence, several singers like Karthik, Hariharan, Shankar Mahadevan, Blaaze, Javed Ali, Neethi Mohan, Chimayi etc performed on stage which added glory to the event..
The list of songs performed at the event are, Jaage Hain (Guru), Ella Pugazhum Oruvan Oruvanuke (Azhagiya Tamizh Magan), Endendrum Punnagai (Alaipayuthe) ,Varadhe Nathi Karai Ooram (Sangamam),Vaaji Vaaji (Shivaji), Barso Re (Guru), Newyork Nagaram (Jilunu Oru Kaadha), Girlfriend (Boys), Jashn E Bahaara (Jodha Akbar), Roobaroo (Rang De Basanthi), Munbe Vaa (Jillunu Oru Kadhal), Enna Solla Pogirai (Kandukonden Kandukonden), Kanodu Kaanbathellam (Jeans),Dil Se Re (Dil Se), In Lamhon Ke (Jodha Akbar), Adhiradi (Shivaji), Chaiyya Chaiyya (Dil se), Azeeem Shah (Jodha Akbar), Oru Koodai (Shivaji), Pray for me Brother, Bombay Theme, Khwaja Mere Khwaja (Jodha Akbar), Udhaya Udhaya (Udhaya), Ay Hairathe (Guru), Tumhari Adao Pe (Mangal Pandey), Maiyya Maiyya (Guru), Maduraiku Pogadhadi (Azhagiya Tamizh Magan),Tere Bina (Guru), Antha Arabic Kadaloram (Bombay), "Vande Maataram"!!!!!Of these songs performed, Khwaja Mere Khwaja (Jodha Akbar), was presented in a quite different way, ie, A.R sat on a bed like thing laid on the floor with a harmonium placed in front of him and more importantly he was with a white cap on his head!! Am not able to express it exactly, but the presentation looked very devotional( like a prayer song infact!!).. Another important thing in this regard was the Azeem-oh-Shah song from the same movie.. During this performance, some 30-35 students came up with those giant bands with the legend Shivamani taking the lead Band!! The entire stage was terrific at that momment.. Also, half way through that song, thala moved on to the first stanza of the 'Veera Pandiya Kottayile!!' song which kept us spell bound..!!
With all these on one side, we had Shivamani himself controlling the spectators with his own awesome drums.. Not just drums, but his hands made music out of other materials like a suitcase, bubble top water can etc..!! This was simply superb!! And the pick-of-the-day was the Vande Mataram song to end up the concert.. The entire crowd was speechless at that song!! In short the concert was a 3 hour delight and of course the living legend A.R.Rahman was the one man behind it.. Thanks to Times Of India once again!! And millions of thanks to the God Of Music!!!!

Its Time to Celebrate!!!!
As we all know, winning a series against Australia, that too in the Australian grounds is quite amazing.. And today, Indians proved themselves by winning the CB series(a tri series between India, Australia and Sri Lanka)..
After getting selected for the finals, by crossing all the league matches, the Indians made a solid victory on the first final.. And today, being the second final match, it became the Do or Die match for the Australians.. So, with lots of expectations, the match started and of course, it was a pretty good start by the Indain openners, who chose to bat first.. It was Sachin's knock of 91 runs today, that turned out to be his unmatchable 89th half century..
The entire team performed well and managed to score 258 runs at the end of the innings.. When the Australians came out to bat, Indian fast bowler Praveen Kumar took early wickets of Gilly, Ponting and Clarke.. These early break thrus took our team to the commanding position.. It was then Hayden and Symonds whose partnership proved to be challenging as Hayden made his half century to reduce the burden on the team..
Later, in the 26th over, Aus lost Hayden and Symond's wickets.. But then, it was again Hussey and Hopes, who fought their best to reduce the chasing margin.. With these thrilling moments, it was Pathan who took the wicket of Hopes in the last over and marked the victory for our team!!
In short, all the players in our team, did their best in paving way for our success and it was Sachin and Praveen kumar who were the Stars today..
With this victory from the senior players on one side, we have the Under 19 team, who are presently the World Cup winners in their division!! So, we can say that India is shining in all spheres of cricket... Hats-Off to all those players, who were responsible for taking India to this winning position!!!!

Yet Another Laurel!!!!
Sachin Tendulkar scored his 42nd ODI century with his unbeaten 117(not out!!) against Australia.. As usual, Sachin was awesome on the pitch as he came up openning the innings and remained unbeaten till the winning stroke!! It was a nice treat for all Indian fans to see the God of Cricket playing his excellent shots.. Numerous Coverdrives, Inside-Outs, Square drives, Flicks and what not!!
With Sachin missing 5 centuries last year( as he was taken in his 90s ), he broke out his Nervous Nineties pattern today!! This infact raises the expectation for the upcoming matches and no doubt, Sachin is really gonna rock!!
With nothing to stop him, I wish him All the very Best for his upcoming centuries and laurels!!

A.R.Rahman's music school!!!!!
It seems that, A.R. is going to launch a music school very shortly, to nurture young minds with the musical gift.. He calls this to be his dream coming true!! His idea behind this is to create a well reputed and a top class music school.. In this regard he has even selected a place near Chennai Airport, where the construction works will be proceeded..
In his words,
"I feel young talented musicians in our country, specially those who want to learn Western classical music, have nowhere seriously creative to go. We need to cultivate a taste for Western symphonic music so that an average musically-inclined young musician would be as enthused about learning the violin as the star.. " - - A.R.Rahman
He also adds " We'll soon be working round-the-clock. I want it to be one of the best music schools in our country"!!!!
With this act of starting a music school, Thala has entered into another dimension of becoming a teacher!! As everyone knows, Thala rocks in whatever he does and so is the music school.. With lots of expectations, i extend my heart felt wishes to his new endeavour!!!!

Munbe Vaa..- The song with a Difference!!
As an ardent fan of A.R.Rahman, i just love almost all his creations.. But then, what made me write about this song in particular is that, i feel there is something more than just music in it.. We always have a set of songs which will take you through some precious memories.. And this is one such song for me.. When this movie was on the screens, we had immense craze about this song.. Infact, we have listened to this song for hours together.. Even today the song remains fresh and heart provoking!!
One more thing, that adds spice to the song is its picturisation.. Surya just rocks in it!! His style and expreesions just adds beauty to the song.. From the cinematic point of view, this song has its own uniqueness that, no other song has its starting with the phrase 'Munbe Vaa'..
On the whole, the heart throbbing song is a gift to kollywood cinema and thanks to A.R. for fetching such a masterpiece!!!!

'End of an ERA!!!!' - Adam Gilchrist..
Born on Nov 14th 1971, he ruled over cricket for years together.. Infact, he holds a record of playing 96 test matches(at a stretch) right from his debut!! Adding to this, his test batting average is 47.60 and has 379 catches, 37 stumpings to his records!! He has contributed significantly to the team at several occassions.. One such example is the world cup 2007 finals..
The jersey doesn't matter.. The ground doesn't matter.. Gilchrist has been rocking always!! The keeper cum batsman has throbbed millions of hearts with his play..
But the disappointing fact of the day is Gilly's retirement from test cricket.. A great loss to all cricket lovers.. It is the End of a Cricketing Era!! As we say that the loss is unmatchable, so also his position in the team.. No keeper can ever replace his position and reputation..It would have been better if he had played 4 more test matches to mark his 100th match!!
With all these on one side, he has announced his ODI retirement after the tri-series.. This proves still more shocking!! We just have one series ahead to witness the legend playing!! And so, lets hope for a classic cricket from him in his upcoming few innings!!!!

India vs Belgium Hockey match!!!!
I came to know about the five match test series between India and Belgium, through my friend and decided to be a part of the spectating crowd at the stadium.. The matches are held at Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium, Egmore and the entry for it is absolutely free!!
It seems, this series is just a warm up series for the Indians before taking the qualifying match for the Olympics.. I was there at the stadium for the first two matches.. The first one ended in a Draw with each team scoring 4 goals .. At the end of the first half, we were at a comfortable position with a 3-0 lead.. But in the second half, Belgium made a real come back and made it a draw with 4-4..
The second match was really fascinating!! The first half ended with a 0-0 but the second half proved worth watching!! At the end of the play, India won it with a 5-0 lead!! Indians Rocked!!
But one thing disturbed me at the stadium.. The very sight of only half the stadium being filled showed the unpopularity of the game.. I also heard that the salary of a hockey player is just 25000 rs per match.. Adding to it, I read in the newspaper that, the players travelled from their hotel to the stadium, using Autorickshaws!!!! This proves really pathetic....
But on the whole, we guys had real fun watching those terrific moments of the game!! And my request to all, is not to miss such an opportunity!!!!

Bangalore Shiv Mandir
1. The giant statue of Lord Shive(65 ft. approx.)
2. The temple very much differs from the traditional ones,as it does not have any ancient sculptures, carvings etc., but still has its own sanctity..
3. A cave like thing, which depicts various forms of Lord Shiva..
The temple is located at Airport Road, behind Kemp Fort building.. Though the temple is quite some kms from the main city, it proves to be worth visiting!!
As we know, Bangalore is entitled as 'The Garden City' with its own unique gardens and other places of tourist attraction.. Now that, apart from all those gardens, this temple has become yet another place of tourist attraction..
As a whole, this temple is an asset for the city, with its own characteristic beauty!!!!

"The GOD of Music.."
Wishing him all the very best for all his future endeavours....!!!!
Sir Sachin Tendulkar!!!!
Yet another laurel!! Yet another reason for all the Indians to feel proud of!! As we know, the present talk of the town is Gordon Brown's idea about nominating Sachin for Knighthood!! This indeed, gives all the Indians an opportunity to celebrate..
Another important aspect to be noted in this regard is that, Sachin is the first Indian sportstar to get this title!! Some of the players with this Sir title are Sir Gary Sobers, Sir Vivian Richards, Sir Richard Hadlee and Sir Don Bradman.. And now hopefully, Sachin may join this elite team..
In the words of Gordon Brown:
""I would like to see some of the great players of the modern era like Sachin Tendulkar proposed for honorary awards so the British nation can salute their achievements in these sports....."
Nevertheless, Sachin being the ICON OF CRICKET, fully deserves the title.. Lets salute the cricketing LEGEND and hope for more and more laurels to him in the days to come!!!!

Varanam Aayiram trailer!!!!
A perfect combo of Surya, Gautham and Harris Jayaraj.. And Surya is rocking in the movie with his own stylish looks.. The supporting music in the trailer, scored by Harris is awesome.. The expectations of the movie becomes more intense with this trailer..
Some of the aspects of the trailer which every Surya fan must notice are:
1. The wide range of variations in thala's appearance..
2. Bubbly movements of Surya..
3. Rocking dance movements..
4. The most important of all, Surya's Style in the movie.. Simply superb..
With Surya and Harris on one side, the movie has a beautiful support rendered by the cinematographer on the other.. The trailer has got a pleasant back drop through out..
The various frames in the trailer depicts a rich and a pleasant work by the cameraman.. Especially those scenes with a foggy background are scintillating!!!! This aspect of the movie makes it worth watching again n again..
In short, each and every frame of the trailer is rocking!!!! Waiting to see the movie....

Industrial Visit to Nippo Batteries!!
We started from our place early in the morning and returned home at around 10 pm.. The firm, Nippo batteries, was full of heavy machineries that were designed for manufacturing batteries.. The entire firm was automated and everything was "worth watching" for us..
More than the firm itself, the roads that led to the place( the highways we went on) was fascinating.. Above all, we had total unlimited fun in the bus, in which we had our travel.. You ll get to know more about the time we had, by watching this video..
Since we're not allowed to take our mobiles inside the factory, we weren't able to take the pictures of the firm's inner aspects.. On the whole, we had a rocking IV, which, we guys ll never forget!!
Cherishable memories....
